~ If you have information about this crash, please send a Message or Email via our Guest Book (link on Home Page) ~ Ten days after the initial discovery of the Norseman crash site, I made a return visit. I had not found any records of a plane crash in this area, in either Norseman records or Military / FAA / NTSB records. I hoped to find the engine or firewall which would contain ID plates. While I didn't find those components, I found a significant amount of other parts from the aircraft. Locating a copy of the C-64 Parts Catalog has proven invaluable in identification of components. |

A couple of unidentified skin panels As seen in prior images, the Norseman had a welded steel tubing fuselage. Attached wood stringers carried a fabric skin; but the aircraft was alclad from the cockpit forward and along the belly. The wing was fabric covered wood, with aluminum leading edges. It employed steel tubing flaps and ailerons. |

Landing Gear Wheel Fairing Assembly This was the first part I came upon in my discovery of the aircraft; it is pictured mostly buried in frozen ground on that page's photos. |

Aft starboard (RH) wing to fuselage attach fitting and bolt, viewed from exterior. There was some question whether the wings had been torn off in the crash or removed afterwards. The presence of these attach bolts indicates that the starboard wing was torn off in the accident. Conversely, the two port wing bolts are not present, and apparently were removed. |

Melted alloy; evidence that much of the aircraft was consumed by fire. |
