Wayah Bald's fire tower was originally built in 1937. Originally a 3-story structure, it has undergone several changes over the years. Most recently, the wood structure burned in the fall 2016 wildfires, but was rebuilt in early 2018. I had great views - I could literally see for tens and tens of feet! |
