My first 2024 visit was in late May, primarily
to monitor the Platanthera herbiola.

P_herbiola

A few images taken during a GPCA monitoring/planning session:

Calopogon
Grass Pink (Calopogon tuberosus)

Haploa_Moth
A Haploa moth, of the Tiger Moth sub-family.
Either Haploa lecontei, or H. clymene; there is so much variation
in the two species that I couldn't decide from my one photo.

Great_Spangled_Fritillary
Great Spangled Fritillary (Speyeria cybele),
on Wild Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa).

Calopogons
More Grass Pinks (Calopogon tuberosus)

A short visit after a ukulele jam at Cupid Falls:

Culvers_Root

Culvers_Root
Foliage of Culver's Root   (Veronicastrum virginicum)

Culvers_Root
It is not a tracked plant in Georgia, but it's certainly not common.
This is the only occurrence that I know of in the northeastern corner of the state.
