Except for a couple of GPCA work days in January, I didn't
make my usual early spring visits to the Seeps this year.
I did stop to check on these rare orchids, but they were a
bit past prime.   There were six blooming stalks this year.

1 - Early June, 2023:

P_herbiola
Southern Tubercled Rein Orchid   (Platanthera herbiola)
We caged these plants last year to keep them from being chewed again.

2 - Mid June, 2023

A short visit to photograph some more orchids:

Sweetshrub
Eastern Sweetshrub   (Calycanthus floridus)
These were the reddest flowers and biggest leaves that I've ever seen on
the species.   When I first saw it, I thought it must be something else.

Clematis_viorna
Vase vine, aka Leatherflower   (Clematis viorna)

Rose_Pogonia
Rose Pogonia   (Pogonia ophioglossoides)
Not a listed plant, but these are rare in the northern half of Georgia.
I used to find one here, but it disappeared a couple of years ago;
I located this one nearby.   The flower hadn't yet fully opened.

Monarda
Wild Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa)
