I headed to the nearby bog to check on the Swamp Pinks, but they had bloomed out for the year.

I spotted some very small Trilliums that were just starting to bloom.

Two days later, I returned to the bog to check on those small Trilliums:

Sure enough, they were Painted Trilliums (Trillium undulatum), a first for me.
