1 - Late July, 2024

It seemed like a good day to visit a few of my favorite mid summer wildflower
spots in the general Buck Creek - Corundum Knob vicinity.

There were a few still hanging on, even this late in the year.

This population has been known as Stenanthium gramineum for as long as
I've known, but lately they are being called an undescribed species.

I have found only seem to bloom every 2-4 years.

2 - Early August, 2024

I hoped to catch a certain Liatris in bloom, but it was still in bud.
So I found a few other subjects...

The flowers were more open than when I had seen these plants 10 days earlier.

They were mostly bloomed out for the year.

Two and a half weeks after my previous visit,
I returned to catch the Liatris in bloom.
