1 - July 21, 2021 - First Bloom of the Year
In 2020, our first TBO bloom occurred on July 22. On July 21, 2021, I went down to check on the buds. Sure enough, the first plant I looked at had vertical buds, indicating an imminent bloom for the next day. But as I looked around further, I noticed that several plants were already in flower, a day early.

Rising TBO buds indicate blooms for the following day.

A few TBOs didn't get the message, and had bloomed a day early...

2 - July 22, 2021
Today was the "true" first bloom of this season. I'd say that about 1/3 bloomed yesterday, and the other 2/3 today. The first flowering (of 4-6 during the next month) is always the smallest.

3 - August 4-5, 2021
The second bloom of this season was similar to the first, in that it occurred over a few days. This has been an usual year in that regard, since in past years the blooms, for the most part, all flower on the same day. Also, this turned out to be the "big" bloom cycle of the year.

Nice coloring on this orchid...

The Crane-fly Orchids (Tipularia discolor) were also in full bloom.
Note that there were two additional smaller TBO flowerings this season (on Aug. 18 & Aug. 29), but I didn't photograph them...
