Old Homesite CL01 - Sugar Cove, Clay Co., NC The remains of a stone house foundation are partially surrounded by a low wall. There are several other walls and numerous stone mounds also at this location. |

Old Homesite TO04 - Upper Beech Flats, Towns Co., GA An old overgrown road leads to this site, which contains, in addition to a collapsed chimney, the remains of a terrace wall and a dug out cellar. |

Old Homesite TO05 - Between Beech Flats & Sugar Cove, GA While looking for another site, I came across a pair of collapsed chimneys, with the fireplaces facing each other, about 36 feet apart. These were once at each end of a large house. What is odd is that this house site doesn't show up on any of the old early topo maps from the 1900s. Any house that large back then, with two chimneys, should have been fairly prominent. The site is at 3300 ft elevation, and there is a nice spring about 150 ft away. |

Old Homesite CL02 - Lower Beech Flats, Clay Co., NC Of more recent vintage than the others, this home site sits on an abandoned farm. |
