March 2024 - A successful chimney-hunting day, Part 1 Earlier this winter, a friend of Sheldon's sent a photo of an intact chimney deep in the woods of Fannin Co. He'd come across it decades ago while logging the area. We had to wait for the seasonal FS roads to open back up before going to look for it, but in late March we had a perfect day, with optimal cloudy conditions. With somewhat confusing directions, we stumbled around the woods for a while, but did manage to locate it. We don't find many intact chimneys like this out in the woods anymore; what a beauty! |
