9 - Horse Branch Falls, Rabun Co.
I've had this waterfall in my sights for several years. While not a long hike, it is in a steep gorge choked
with rhododendron and mountain laurel thickets, plus tons of deadfall & blow-down. The only two folks I
know who've been to this falls both ended up going up the creek as the path of least resistance. I decided
to try a different route, coming down from an adjacent ridge while working around the surrounding cliffs.
It was still a hellacious scramble, but at least I made it there and back with dry feet!
