I spent an afternoon looking for old home sites, but didn't have much luck. Still found a few nice things though! |
A group of Dwarf Crested Iris (Iris cristata) There were hundreds of these in bloom along the old forest road I walked. |
Dwarf Crested Iris (Iris cristata) - typical coloring |
Dwarf Crested Iris (Iris Cristata) - white form Among the many native irises growing along the old road were a number of pale violet ones, as well as maybe a half dozen that were completely white except for a tinge of color around the crests. This was a nice find for me; I had never seen such white ones before. |
Pink Lady's Slipper (Cypripedium acaule) My first one of the year (and the only one today...). |
Shed deer antler... |
Catesby's Trillium (Trillium catesbaei) |
Wild Geranium, aka Spotted Geranium or Wood Geranium (Geranium maculata) |
